Nurse N Glow Lighted Nursing Pillow Nurse N Glow Lighted Nursing Pillow

This nursing pillow is designed for night time breastfeeding. It helps providing a proper spine-pelvis alignment for the baby, thus helping avoiding complications that might occur as a result of improper positioning. Nurse N Glow was invented by a Doctor of Chiropractic, Laura Bartner. It won the JPMA International Innovation Award and iParenting Media Award in 2005. This pillow features a built-in soft glow light, just enough for the mother to see what she’s doing, without having to wake up her partner. There’s a belief that breastfeeding while laying in bed may facilitate lactation and a better milk flow. We weren’t able to find medical studies to support this statement, but it’s certain that nursing in bed is more comfortable than getting out of the bed several times a night. Thanks to a programmable microchip, the onboard LED light turns off automatically after 30 minutes, so the chances that the bed partner or the baby wake up are minimum. The pillow has a side pocket, very handy for keeping breast pads, baby pacifiers or other small items inside. Another useful feature is the removable pillowcase, which can be easily detached and washed as many times as needed.

Nurse N Glow weighs 1.2 lbs and its size is 14” x 10” x 4.75”. It costs $40, a reasonable price if we think that a good night time rest of your co-sleeping partner is priceless. Besides, its soft light can help the baby fall asleep easier, at least this is what a couple of moms told us.

The difference between this pillow and other ones is that this is not meant to be attached to the mother’s waist, so in case you want to don’t want to breastfeed your infant only when in bed, you could probably use a second nursing pillow such as Boppy or My Breast Friend.
